Arizona State’s Trent Lockett announces transfer to Marquette University

Trent Lockett will be a Golden Eagle next season. The former Arizona State Sun Devil announced he would be attending Marquette. Lockett’s mother was diagnosed with cancer recently and lives in Minnesota, Trent wanted to be closer to her and also wanted to finish out his career with a good basketball program.

After earning his degree in business communications from Arizona State last week, Lockett will be eligible right away and will not have to sit out a year. Lockett led the Sun Devil’s in scoring with 13 points per game and also lead the team in rebounds (5.8) and steals (37). Marquette seniors Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom, the team’s two leading scorers, are now graduating and entering the NBA Draft and Lockett’s scoring ability and experience as a team leader will sure help out the Golden Eagles next season.
